Back to the days when resources on computers were tough and limited, developers had to optimize their code to compile applications that could fit on small floppies. We don’t have to face that nightmare these days and those applications are really old today.
However, they are old but definitely not outdated. Some of them can run well on modern systems like Windows 7 and even faster, more efficient than new ones, although they are in small size (I prefer to say ‘tiny’).
